[ RTO Shield ]

Reduce COD RTO with WhatsApp NDR recovery.

Automatically catch failed WhatsApp deliveries the moment a courier marks an order undeliverable — before it turns into a costly RTO.

RTO Shield — India’s COD problem, solved in WhatsApp

Every failed delivery, caught on WhatsApp — before it becomes a return.

The courier marks it undeliverable. Before it becomes a lost sale, LeapCrew is already texting the customer — confirm, reschedule, or fix the address, all inside WhatsApp. No app to download, no call-centre queue.

Step 01

Courier files the NDR

Shiprocket marks the shipment ‘customer unavailable’ — the webhook fires into LeapCrew the instant it happens, no polling delay.

Step 02

WhatsApp reaches them in under 2 minutes

One tap to confirm, reschedule, or fix a wrong address — right inside the chat thread they already have open.

Step 03

The reply routes back to the courier

No manual re-entry. The customer’s answer is pushed straight into Shiprocket and a reattempt is scheduled automatically.

Step 04

Delivered instead of returned

Courier-confirmed, not assumed — the order closes as delivered, and the sale stays sold.

[ The silent leak ]

Every failed COD delivery costs ₹120–180 in forward + reverse shipping — before you even count the product. At 20–30% COD RTO, that’s the single biggest silent leak in Indian D2C.

Every reply is synced straight into Shiprocket — no manual re-entry, no copy-pasting phone screenshots into a spreadsheet.

Courier-confirmed, not assumed. “Rescued” means the Shiprocket webhook marked the order delivered — not that the customer replied “yes.” No other WhatsApp platform in India closes this loop end to end.

What is a WhatsApp NDR recovery flow?

An NDR (Non-Delivery Report) is what a courier files when a COD shipment can't be delivered — customer unavailable, wrong address, or a refused order. Traditional recovery relies on IVR calls or SMS links that go unread. A WhatsApp NDR flow fires the moment the courier's webhook lands, reaches the customer inside a chat thread they already have open, and routes their reply straight back to the courier to trigger a reattempt — no call centre, no app download.

Why India's COD RTO rate is so high

Cash-on-delivery still drives the majority of D2C orders in India, and with it comes a 20–30% RTO (Return to Origin) rate — among the highest of any e-commerce market globally. The usual causes: unreachable phone numbers, incomplete addresses, buyer's remorse, and IVR fatigue from repeated confirmation calls. Each failed delivery costs ₹120–180 in forward-plus-reverse shipping alone, before the cost of the product itself.

RTO Shield questions.

Does RTO Shield work with any courier?

RTO Shield connects to Shiprocket today, syncing NDR events and reattempt requests automatically. Support for additional couriers is on the roadmap.

How fast does the WhatsApp message go out after an NDR?

Under 2 minutes from the moment the courier's webhook fires — no polling delay.

How is this different from a generic WhatsApp chatbot?

RTO Shield is courier-confirmed, not assumed. "Rescued" means the courier's own webhook marked the order delivered — not that the customer merely replied "yes" in chat. The loop closes end to end, from NDR to confirmed redelivery.
